Translation

Translation is not just about words on a page. Translating requires a solid knowledge of the two languages involved, taking into account the type of text so that your message is carried into the target language effectively.

Editing and Proofreading

By comparing the source and the target texts I can look for and correct any kind of errors, including difficulties in comprehension, meaning, grammar, and punctuation.  And before publishing, I can ensure that the translated document reads smoothly and sounds natural in the target language.

Desktop Publishing

Your document may include heavy graphics or a complex layout that require maintaining the electronic format and design in the translated version. Because I know this may be important to meet your needs, I work with a team of professional designers.

My Process

How it all fits together:

You get in touch with me for the first time either to request a quote or ask me any questions about me or your language needs.

We discuss your translation needs and agree on a delivery date that will meet your requirements and allow me to do what I do best.

Now I will work to achieve our goals by rendering a text that will carry your message through and through into the target audience, just like you intended for your original audience.

I deliver my translation as scheduled and we make sure it meets your expectations.

I will work eagerly to ensure your needs are fulfilled with each translation, so that we can partner up again for your future projects.

What I do best

Medicine and Health Care

Medical translation requires knowledge and accuracy to help companies and providers meet the growing challenge of communicating effectively with patients and colleagues who speak a different language.

The types of documents I translate include medical records, informed consent forms, educational and marketing materials, and clinical trial protocols so you can reach both patients and the medical community.

Insurance

I have translated hundreds of documents that relate to insurance in all areas: work, health, travel, motor vehicle, home, and commerce. This gives me a solid knowledge of the field to assist you with insurance policies and certificates, marketing brochures, benefits highlights, claims, leaves of absence, etc.

Don't just take my word for it

Take a look at what my clients have to say about me

“Laura has made my job a lot easier by taking care of my translation needs in a professional and dedicated manner. My clinic and our patients greatly appreciate her work!”
“I highly recommend Laura! She will give a 100% in each project and your client will be her priority.”
“We’ve had the pleasure of working with Laura now for the better part of a decade. During that time, we’ve had nothing but positive experiences.”

Before we work together, let me say a few words about me

Hi. My name is Laura. I’m a translator, editor, proofreader, teacher of English, avid reader, and coffee lover.

I started my career as a professional translator back in 2007 and since then I have been blending my passion for languages with hard work to bring cultures closer together.

I am qualified as a Certified Technical, Scientific and Literary Translator. I graduated in Argentina and have built a solid knowledge and understanding of the Latin American and US ways.

As my enthusiasm about what I do is reflected in the dedication I put in every project I undertake, I am proud to say that my clients see a detail-oriented and reliable translator in me.

I specialize in the medical and pharmaceutical fields. I have spent years developing knowledge in these areas and I don’t plan on stopping any time soon!

Let's talk

I would love to hear about your project!

If you have a project in mind or any questions about working with me I’d be happy to help.
